December 12, 2016Lottery Applications must be received by Allegro on this date. Any application received after this date will not enter the lottery and will be put on a waiting list in the order it was received. 


January 9, 2017: Open House from 6:30 PM- 7:30 PM



January 12, 2017: Live Lottery will be held in our cafeteria @ 6:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend.

​APPLICATION AND ENROLLMENT INSTRUCTIONS • 2017-2018 SCHOOL YEAR

Allegro Charter School of Music (Allegro) will admit students in sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, and eleventh grades who are eligible to attend a Charleston County School District school, subject to space limitations and based on grade levels served.  There are three steps involved in the student enrollment procedure:  (1) Completion of the one-page Application for Enrollment Consideration; (2) Selection based on availability or lottery; (3) Completion of the Student Enrollment Packet (mailed or emailed to parent/guardian upon acceptance). 


(1) APPLICATION FOR ENROLLMENT CONSIDERATION PROCESS

  • Allegro has a one-page application for enrollment consideration (see reverse side of this form) and there is no admissions test or audition.
  • One application must be completed and submitted for each student seeking enrollment.

          Please print clearly.  Any incomplete applications will be returned.

  • Applications must be turned in by December 12, 2016.   Complete applications must be in our possession by this date in order to enter the lottery.
  • Applications received after the deadline will be considered on a space available basis.
  • Applications are accepted by US Mail or hand delivered at the address below. No fax or e-mailed applications will be accepted:

(2) SELECTION

If the number of applications received by December 12 does not meet or exceed capacity, then admission will be given on a first come, first serve basis.  In the event that Allegro receives more applications than available student slots by December 12, 2016, a random public lottery will be held on January 12, 2017.  Parents or guardians of applicants will be notified via email and/or US mail of the lottery.  Students who are selected will be notified no later than one week after the lottery is held.

(3) STUDENT ENROLLMENT

  • A Student Enrollment Packet will be sent to students who have a selected slot. 
  • Selected students who choose to attend Allegro must fully complete and submit the Student Enrollment Packet within 10 business days of notification. 
  • Students who do not enroll within the designated period will be withdrawn from the accepted enrollment list and must re-apply if they wish to attend.  That vacated slot would then be offered to the next student on the waiting list.
  • Every effort will be made to reach each student. 
  • The Student Enrollment Packet will require proof of Charleston County residency, immunization records, and birth certificate.
