All students should read and be familiar with the Allegro Student Handbook. You are accountable for knowledge of our policies and procedures. Be sure you are aware of dress code and personal electronic device expectations!

Allegro does not provide transportation for students. It is the responsibility of families to ensure students arrive on time and are picked up on time. Read further for additional information including student off-campus parking.

Allegro’s school day is from 8:10 AM - 3:03 PM. Like all Charleston County Schools, there are days when we may have a half day or an early release day. All of our bell schedules can be referenced here.

Consistent attendance is one of the most important factors in a student’s success. Missing just two days a month means a student misses 10% of the year! Attend regularly and arrive on time each day.

All users of Allegro technology are held to the acceptable use rules and procedures outlined in our student handbook.

Students must bring their device every day fully charged. This will ensure they are able to participate in class successfully each day.

Our Student Program Fee can be paid here. Students who do not pay this fee will be charged the full price of the device if there is damage or loss. In addition to being charged the full price of a replacement device, students who have not paid this fee may not participate in extra-curricular activities such as field trips, dances, or after-school clubs until this fee is paid. Allegro’s progressive discipline plan (PDP) is a multi-tiered approach to interventions and consequences for behavior that affects the learning environment or for actions that violate expectations. Our hierarchy of consequences for violation of the State of South Carolina’s ban on student use of personal electronic devices is outlined in our PDP.

The purpose of Title I, Part A of Public Law 107-110, is to provide supplemental funding to enable schools to provide opportunities for children served to acquire the knowledge and skills contained in the challenging state content standards and to meet the challenging state performance standards developed for all children.

This purpose is accomplished by such efforts as

• providing an enriched and accelerated educational program;

• promoting schoolwide reform through schoolwide programs or through additional services that increase the amount and quality of instructional time;

• significantly upgrading the quality of instruction by providing staff in participating schools with substantial opportunities for professional development; and

• affording parents meaningful opportunities to participate in the education of their children at home and at school.

Allegro Charter School of Music adheres to Charleston County School District's (CCSD) policy for compliance with South Carolina Code of Laws Section 59-32-20, known as Erin's Law. This law mandates that students receive age-appropriate personal safety education, equipping them to recognize signs of sexual abuse, respond appropriately, and report it to a trusted adult.

Following CCSD's guidelines, the school provides this instruction annually through lessons aligned with state-approved standards. These lessons are taught by educators who have received specialized training and certification, and the materials used are tailored to be developmentally suitable for students.

The school also follows CCSD's policy for complying with Gavin's Law (Act 54 of 2023), which requires that students, parents or guardians, school staff, and the broader public be properly informed about this law's provisions and its implications.

Allegro Charter School of Music partners with Charleston County School District to provide support services for displaced and homeless families in accordance with the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act. These services help ensure that students experiencing homelessness have access to the resources and stability needed to continue their education without interruption.

At Allegro Charter School of Music, we are committed to identifying and supporting the educational needs of every student. Parents with educational concerns about a currently enrolled student are encouraged to share these with the student's teacher, guidance counselor, or other school staff member. Allegro utilizes a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) to implement interventions and address educational concerns.

For students who were receiving services under IDEA at their previous school and are transferring into Allegro, screening is not necessary. Please include the requested information regarding your child's IEP on the registration form and notify our office staff of your child's need for services.
